I started a regular feature on my blog about the most obscure names I've come across, and those with name stories too good to pass up. I thought it would be a good idea to just have a blog about names so that if you are not interested in the other topics on my blog, you don't have to bother with them.
Whether you consider me an ace of names or not is entirely relative, as there are plenty of people who know more about them than I do. However, this has been a lifelong hobby of mine, and my life is long enough now for that to mean something, and I have also had a deep interest in many subjects which are name-related, such as languages, literature, history, geography, politics, art.
For now you will mainly find obscure names or variants or names you are unlikely to know depending on your cultural background - my folks, for instance, are less likely to be familiar with names like Nevaeh and Makayla or Araceli and Mariska and my nephew may know more about Danaerys and Tyrion but still not know Evangeline and Cordelia. As much as possible I try to favor the most obscure names, generally a name I have only just encountered for the first time.
Please contribute any names you think would be of interest! You are welcome to ask about a name you would like to know more about, if I have not yet posted information on that name, and even if I don't know the name, I will do what I can to find out more about it.
