Top Baby Names of 2013 - Predictions

I thought I'd give you some data to help you make the most educated guess of the top baby names for 2013 here in the U.S.  The Social Security Administration releases its list right around Mother's Day, so let's get our guesses on record before they publish their results!

Currently Jacob and Sophia are the #1 names given to babies in the United States. Less than 1% of boys named in 2012 were given the name Jacob. A little more than 1% of girls born in 2012 were named Sophia.
Looking at the graphs below you can see how Jacob and Sophia have fared in the past.

Here is the trend in #1 names nationally the last 134 years:

Boys:

1880-1923  John
1924-1939  Robert
1940-1952  James
1953            Robert
1954-1959  Michael
1960            David
1961-1998  Michael
1999-2012   Jacob

Girls:

1880-1946  Mary
1947-1952  Linda
1953-1961  Mary
1962-1969  Lisa
1970-1984  Jennifer
1985-1990  Jessica
1991-1992  Ashley
1993-1995  Jessica
1996-2007  Emily
2008            Emma
2009-2010  Isabella
2011-2012  Sophia

Where do names go after being on the top of the heap? Boy names, without exception, drop to #2 the first year they are unseated from #1 status. Girl names generally do the same (only 2 #1 names have gone to #3 rather than #2 the first year they lost their crown).

2012

2011

2010

I am guessing Jacob will drop to #2 and so will Sophia.

What ranking do you predict for Sophia and Jacob for 2013?
